Yeah but he shouldn't have released it into a song to gain royalties off of....this is one of those cases where if he did say "f*ck" during a prayer he made to God, he should have kept that particular word between him and God. Cuz this is now an act of foolishness - people in the crowd saying the same word back as if its not a big deal is just annoying honestly. It would have been a better impact of a song if he just left a space of silence where he originally had cussed while praying. That way, it could have reached even more audiences because the song is basically blacklisted in every Christian circle. The Lord can still use his music of course, but this decision to actually take the time to record the verse with this word, release it to an album, play it at live shows, and get revenue from it is just foolishness. And of course, you will have people say that this song is what got them into King's Kaleidoscope's music...but that's God's grace working through Chad's foolishness. To include this word in the released song is foolishness. In this circumstance, Chad used "musical authenticity" over wisdom. So everything good from the song is solely because of God. What we don't talk about is: how this song has lead to Christians and non-believers downplaying coarse talk as Paul instructed us against. And again, so many more people could've been reached with this song in a 100% positive way if he would've just kept it clean. I'm sure that one day, he will look back and wished he hadn't made the decision to make it explicit. Just coming from one believer to another. You can dislike my discernment on this but hey, that's for the Lord alone to guide.

I don't understand. Do people watch these videos in hopes of finding a version where he doesn't say it? Or do they come purely just to condemn Kings Kaleidoscope, and to condemn the people who support them? I am all for you and your opinions about them, and/or about the song, but no one is forcing you to listen. If you find it offensive, then stop listening. For some it can be a stumbling block, sure. But for others, myself included, it has been refreshing to hear a Christian tell it like it is. I have found that this song has encouraged me to grow deeper in my love for God, especially as I seek Him out through prayer. I've found that this song has encouraged me to be vulnerable, honest, and to come with all of fears, failures, weaknesses, trials, tribulations, insecurities. I can lay all of these things at the foot of the cross, because I don't need to fear the God who loves me.

Swearing is not a sin. When the Bible talks about it, they are talking about oaths. Study the Bible and challenge the clearly incorrect culture supporting the misinterpretation of it. This song is of God and has led me out of some pretty dark places where the use of the word fuck is appropriate even in the kingdom of God.

@@thedankhaloring9175 Here are the main verses to look at when discussing the use of the word/the use of vulgar language (it is a vulgar word in this day and age, and therefore we are to avoid using such language): Colossians 3:8-10, Ephesian 4:29, Ephesians 5:4, Exodus 20:7 (this passage is referencing blasphemy), Proverbs 4:24, James 3:1-18, Colossians 4:6. I highly recommend reading these and the verses before and after them to get better context. I hope these verses help you understand the commenter's argument.

I think people should do more personal study of the Bible and not go by their Pastor or Bible study’s misinterpretation of it. When it says to not swear they are talking about oaths, which were very common in the culture of the time. There is literally nothing in the New Testament that refers to the words we call “bad words” because most of those words were not available during that period of time. I’m not going to tell you how to pray anymore then you shouldn’t be proselytizing a clearly misunderstood belief. This song is raw and the God I believe in wants this kind of humble honesty. He would rather us be our imperfect selves before Him and use real words from the heart he sees, then try to tiptoe around the words we want to use out of fear that we are somehow going to offend Him. He is the Great Counselor, that means your counselor hears some shit and so does God and just because our culture defines it as a “naughty word” doesn’t mean that it is in the kingdom of heaven. Challenge the religious paradigm you are living under and you will find God waiting for you when it crumbles. I did and it was the greatest day of my life.

Someone who is desperate, man. It's great that you've never felt this way, but I have actually said this in prayer. Many of my friends have said this. I've been in a dark places, and Mr. Snowden, its great you haven't been there. This song is our own raw emotion and frustration with God, and His response is of love and only love. The bands cussing doesn't cause us to sin, and honestly this song has legitimately helped me to turn away from near occasion of sin multiple times. Prayer isn't always butterflies and rainbows, actually more often than not, prayer isn't this. Genuinely, I pray that you can see the beauty and reality of this song. Your friend in Christ

D Plus I don’t think Chad or the people in this thread say the f bomb in their prayers for attention. Is it wrong for Chad to show exactly how he was feeling? This song is an excellent representation about how even when we are full of sin and are doubting whether Jesus is actually real and beside us, Jesus loves us unconditionally, amidst all the sin. Yes it is not right to say the f word, but isn’t that the point of why he’s saying it in the song? And it is also not sin for him to be honest and write in the lyrics exactly what he wrote in his journal because it shows how vulnerable he is and the doubts he was having. You’re worrying too much about one word
